Tamales with Rojo Pork!
Cooking Class for Ages 16+
Tuesday, September 1st | 5:30-8:00pm

Discover the delicious art of tamale making in this hands-on class with Chef Lilly designed for teens and adults. You’ll learn how to prepare traditional masa from scratch, create a rich and flavorful red chile sauce, and combine it with slow-braised pork butt to make authentic homemade tamales. From filling and wrapping to steaming, you’ll master each step of the process while gaining practical kitchen skills and confidence. To round out the meal, you’ll also prepare hearty charro beans and bright, tangy pickled red onions, perfect accompaniments to your freshly made tamales. A vegetarian options are available, please let us know when you register.

Cooking Class for Ages 21+

Tired of recipes that leave you with days of leftovers? Wish you could try some exciting recipes on a smaller scale? Need new ideas for using “leftovers”? Join Chef Jo to discover how rewarding cooking on a small scale can be with recipes from and inspired by “The Pleasures of Cooking for One” by Judith Jones.
Working in pairs, you will make and sample three delicious, distinctly different meals from a thoughtfully planned set of ingredients and learn practical tips for shopping smart, storing food properly, reducing waste, and making the most of every ingredient. Grab a friend and sign up for this fun and informative class! Alcohol and NA beverages will be available for purchase during class (cash or venmo).

Monster Meal!
Cooking Class Ages 7-12 w/Adult
Tuesday, October 27th | 5:30-7:30pm

Young chefs and their adult partners will build a Skeleton Crudité Platter using fresh vegetables arranged into a spooky skeleton shape, then whip up a creamy Homemade Ranch Dip perfect for dunking. Next, you’ll create gooey Monster Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, stuffed with melty cheese, pizza flavors, pepperoni, and plenty of silly monster-inspired details. For dessert, you’ll decorate Slime Monster Cupcakes with stuffed and topped with colorful “slime” frosting, and floating candy eyeballs that bring each edible monster to life.
Bring your favorite grown-up and join us for a hands-on Halloween-themed class where spooky snacks and silly monsters take center stage. Together, you’ll transform everyday ingredients into festive creations that are as fun to make as they are to eat.

Learn to create sautéed chicken paillard with a bright lemon pan sauce, a wilted spinach salad with warm vinaigrette, bacon, strawberries, and egg, and crisp, spiced sweet potato wedges. Along the way, you’ll discover why some dishes taste flat and how to build bold, balanced flavor with confidence.
In this hands-on class, home cooks will explore the essentials of great cooking, including seasoning, acidity, fat, heat, texture, and balance. You’ll practice tasting, adjusting, and understanding how small changes can transform everyday meals into dishes that truly shine. Discover something special with Chef Mona’s Cajun-Creole (“Gumbo”) Risotto, a delicious collaboration of creamy Italian risotto and the deep and comforting flavors of Louisiana cooking.
