Experience the warmth, flavor, and rich culinary traditions of Puerto Rico in this hands-on cooking class with Chef Mona, where you will prepare a rich & savory Pollo Guisado (Braised Chicken Stew) , Golden Yellow Rice, and irresistible Tostones. Mona always brings more than just cooking tips; learn about the connection between food, history, and culture as you prepare this menu that you will want to recreate at home again & again. Discover why these dishes remain favorites at gatherings across the island and throughout the Puerto Rican diaspora.
Menu:
- Pollo Guisado (A comforting chicken stew that reflects the island’s blend of Spanish, African, and Indigenous Taíno influences)
- Arroz Amarillo (Puerto Rico’s iconic yellow rice, seasoned with sofrito and spices that are at the heart of countless family recipes)
- Crispy Tostones (Crispy twice-fried green plantains, a Caribbean staple enjoyed throughout Puerto Rico and a testament to the island’s African and tropical culinary heritage)
