Served over hearty and savory brown rice, this elegant yet approachable meal is ideal for crisp autumn evenings. Cooking Class for Ages 16+

Discover the delicious art of tamale making in this hands-on class with Chef Lilly designed for teens and adults. You’ll learn how to prepare traditional masa from scratch, create a rich and flavorful red chile sauce, and combine it with slow-braised pork butt to make authentic homemade tamales. From filling and wrapping to steaming, you’ll master each step of the process while gaining practical kitchen skills and confidence. To round out the meal, you’ll also prepare hearty charro beans and bright, tangy pickled red onions, perfect accompaniments to your freshly made tamales. A vegetarian options are available, please let us know when you register.

“Chopped” Style Team Cooking Challenge: Italian Harvest
Cooking Fun for Ages 16+

Team up, Think fast, Show off your skills, and win prizes! Ready to test your kitchen creativity? Step into our high energy, hands on Chopped style cooking competition—designed for cooks who love a challenge! You and your cooking partner will face off against other students in two rounds: Entree and Dessert. Each starts with a mystery basket packed with must-use classic Italian ingredients (let us know about any dietary needs), plus access to a shared pantry of produce, dairy, and dry goods. You’ll have to think on your feet, work as a team, and craft something delicious before time runs out. Winning team members each receive a $25 Baker Hunt gift certificate! Perfect for intermediate to advanced cooks who want a fun, competitive, and creative kitchen experience.

Wine Pairing and Charcuterie
Cooking Class for Ages 21+
Tuesday, August 25th | 5:30-7:30pm

Build a stunning charcuterie board while learning the fundamentals of cheese and wine pairing. In this hands-on class with chef Mao Yang, you’ll learn to arrange meats, cheeses, fruits, nuts, and crackers, explore tasting and plating techniques, and sample four chef-selected wines. Leave with a finished board and the skills to impress at your next gathering. Vegetarian boards optional, just let us know when you register.

Chicken Marsala with Spinach Gratin
Cooking Class for Ages 21+
Thursday, August 13th | 5:30-8:00pm

Chef Lilly will teach you how to make a polished yet relaxed dinner that fits comfortably into a busy home kitchen. This class features chicken marsala (with a vegetarian option available), quickly pan seared and finished with a simple Marsala wine & mushroom butter sauce that tastes extraordinary without being fussy. It’s served with tender ricotta gnocchi that soak up every bit of that sweet, savory sauce. Spinach gratin adds just the right cooked vegetable accompaniment for restaurant elegance at home. The meal wraps up with an easy summer berry tart a la mode made with puff pastry and fresh fruit and served with ice cream — proof that dessert can feel homemade and elegant without much effort. Beer, Wine, and NA Beverages will be available during class for $6 each (2 drink per person limit) accepting cash and Venmo.
