
Nature Luminaries

Class Description:
In this class students will learn to create a nature luminary, made out of found sticks, feathers, and yarn. First students will look at examples of work created by artists who use nature as their muse and even as material, then students will construct a luminary from sticks and and weave the outside walls with yarn. Students will then adorn their 3D huts with feathers, beads and tassels.

Students will learn….Creative use of nature materials.Basic sculpture-building and 3D design.Beginner weaving techniques
What You’ll Leave With:
Students will leave with creative ways to use the natural world around them, a luminary, and a plastic tea-light to illuminate their sculpture.
