General Class Description

Students will create imaginative bug sculptures using recycled bottle tabs (the pull tabs from soda cans) combined with craft materials like wire, beads, googly eyes, and paint. Each “bug” becomes a unique creature with wings, legs, antennae, and personality. This eco-friendly workshop emphasizes creativity, upcycling, and mixed-media assembly.

What Will Students Learn?

Upcycling and creative reuse of everyday materials.
Basic sculpture-building and 3D design.
How to assemble small parts into a stable structure.
Pattern, symmetry, and character design.
Safe handling of small craft components.

What Will Students Leave With?

Students will leave with 2-4 handmade bottle tab bug sculptures while having a better understanding of recycling and creative reuse.

Nature Luminaries

Class Description:

In this class students will learn to create a nature luminary, made out of found sticks, feathers, and yarn. First students will look at examples of work created by artists who use nature as their muse and even as material, then students will construct a luminary from sticks and and weave the outside walls with yarn. Students will then adorn their 3D huts with feathers, beads and tassels.

Students will leave with creative ways to use the natural world around them, a luminary, and a plastic tea-light to illuminate their sculpture.

Charley Harper-inspired Art for Youth

General Class Description

In this class, we will explore the artistic world and life of Charlie Harper. Well, known for his Cardinals. in this class, we will reduce animals to bold geometric shapes. Known as minimal realism.

What Will Students Learn?

Students will be introduced to Charlie Harper, his artwork, and his life story. Students will learn to redefine animals using bold geometric shapes in the style of Charlie Harper by simplifying them into geometric shapes, giving them a bold outline and color.

What Will Students Leave With?

Students will leave with full color Charlie Harper-inspired characters of their choosing. Everyone will begin by drawing his well-known cardinal in different views. Then students will branch off and choose animals of their choice (land, water, and air animals).

Ghost Garlands

General Class Description

Create a charming handmade ghost garland perfect for Halloween decorating. Students will make a series of soft fabric ghosts, then string them together into a festive garland to hang on a mantel, wall, doorway or window. This beginner-friendly crafting project encourages creativity by allowing participants to mix and match fabrics while customizing each ghost’s expression. Perfect for festive fall fun!

What Will Students Learn?

Basic fabric cutting techniques.
How to safely use a needle and thread.
How to stuff and shape fabric into simple 3D figures.
How to assemble multiple pieces into a decorative garland.
Creative design through fabric and facial expression choices.

What Will Students Leave With?

A completed Ghost garland that can be a reusable Halloween and fall decoration displayed year after year.

Spooky Cartoons for Youth

General Class Description

Students will bring cartoon characters to life! Students will create an animated pumpkin patch with fall Halloween characters. Students will have fun drawing cartoon bats, cats, pumpkins, scarecrows, witches & ghosts. Students will incorporate a spooky Halloween setting with their characters into an animated scene.

What Will Students Learn?

* Students will learn how to build characters using character construction.
* Basic cartoon bodybuilding with shapes.
* Students were learn various expressions to help bring their animated Halloween characters to life while developing their personality.
* Students will learn how to stage their characters within a setting/background

What Will Students Leave With?

Students would leave with fun and spooky drawings of Halloween cartoons created within the class!

Spooky Family Portraits

General Class Description

Students may either use a given pattern to create a paper doll or draw their own using paper and brass push pins. Then, using colored construction paper, they will dress up their mini-me in a Halloween costume! Once it is all done, the hands of the dolls will be connected using string or glue, creating a fun spooky Halloween family portrait to hang up as decorations around their house!

***Anyone under the age of 14 needs to be accompanied by an adult

What Will Students Learn?

Working together as a family, and separately, to create a unique interpretation of their self to complete and connect each piece together. This builds cooperation and teamwork as a family unit, while also allowing individualism to shine.

What Will Students Leave With?

A spooky, fun family portrait and hopefully, some great memories 🙂

Autumn Leaf Animals

Students will receive (or may draw) the outline of an animal or Halloween related item. Then, using a variety of dried leaves, they will fill in the feathers, fur, scales, or texture. They may also add additional drawn or painted details to create a unique, creative animal(s).

How to use alternative materials to create texture and patterns. Think creatively. Reinforce planning a strategy beforehand, coupled with investigative happenstance.

A natural art piece celebrating fall and the spooky season.

Cozy Glow Candle Art

General Class Description

A variety of ages 10+ will discover the art of decorating pillar candles through painting and decorative carving techniques. Students will personalize unscented candles using candle-safe wax paints, carving tools, and optional metallic accents to create beautiful home décor or handmade gifts. This workshop focuses on creativity while teaching techniques that preserve the candle’s ability to be displayed or burned safely when decorated correctly.

What Will Students Learn?

Basic candle decorating techniques.
Safe candle carving methods.
How to paint on wax using candle-safe materials.
Design planning, pattern transfer, and composition.
Proper candle care and safety after decorating.

What Will Students Leave With?

Students will decorate at least one decorated pillar candle while gaining knowledge of candle painting and carving techniques. A relaxing process suitable for focus and self.

Pinecone Luna Moth

General Class Description

Transform ordinary pinecones into whimsical woodland moths using colorful paper wings, hand-drawn details and simple craft supplies. Inspired by the beautiful moths found in nature during the fall season, students will design unique wing patterns and assemble a charming decoration that can be displayed in seasonal centerpieces, wreaths, or nature-themed décor.

What Will Students Learn?

Symmetry and wing pattern design inspired by real moth species.
How to work with durable craft materials (felt and EVA foam).
Safe hot glue assembly techniques for layered 3D structure.
Surface decoration using paint pens and acrylic detailing.
Basic principles of sculpture-style craft building (layering + structure).

What Will Students Leave With?

Once completed, students will have a finished Pinecone Moth sculpture. They will gain experience working with mixed-media craft materials, leaving with a more advanced understanding of craft construction.

General Class Description

Students create vibrant mosaic artwork using colored glass tiles arranged into patterns or images on a base surface. Once designed and glued down, the piece is finished with grout to lock everything in place for a professional mosaic. This project introduces traditional mosaic techniques in a safe, beginner-friendly studio format while still producing a durable, display-quality finished piece.

What Will Students Learn?

Principles of mosaic design (pattern, balance, and spacing).
How to safely handle and arrange small glass pieces.
Basic surface adhesion techniques using mosaic glue.
Grouting and finishing methods used in traditional tile art.
Color theory and composition using mixed materials.

What Will Students Leave With?

Students will create a finished mosaic tile artwork (coaster, trivet, or small wall piece) or a mosaic vase. A sealed, durable art piece suitable for home display that comes with the experience with multi-step, mixed-media explorations.
