Tamales with Rojo Pork!
Cooking Class for Ages 16+
Tuesday, September 1st | 5:30-8:00pm

Discover the delicious art of tamale making in this hands-on class with Chef Lilly designed for teens and adults. You’ll learn how to prepare traditional masa from scratch, create a rich and flavorful red chile sauce, and combine it with slow-braised pork butt to make authentic homemade tamales. From filling and wrapping to steaming, you’ll master each step of the process while gaining practical kitchen skills and confidence. To round out the meal, you’ll also prepare hearty charro beans and bright, tangy pickled red onions, perfect accompaniments to your freshly made tamales. A vegetarian options are available, please let us know when you register.

Quilting Sewing Lab: Intermediate & Open Studio
Monday, 6:00 p.m.
September 21 – November 9

Class:

Sewing Lab: Quilting is for confident-beginner to intermediate quilters who want to test their skills and tackle more difficult patterns while still receiving quilting instruction! This class is best suited to individuals who understand quilt piecing and are proficient in using a sewing machine. Students should be confident beginner quilt piecers wishing to try more intermediate patterns or intermediate piecers wishing to try more advanced patterns.

What You’ll Learn:

In the 6-week course, the class will feature several patterns for students to choose from, and together with instructor Rachel they will set goals on what to have finished by the end of the session. Topics covered in this class include: weekly demonstrations on techniques, organizing pieces, labeling pieces, when to press seams open, handling bulk, pressing with a clapper and wool mat, advanced quilt piecing, and more!

***Please note, this class may feature homework to complete in between class sessions. If you do not have a sewing machine at home, goals will be set for your progress that will not feature homework.***

What You’ll Leave With:

At the end of the class, attendees will have a better understanding of more advance quilting techniques and the beginning piece, section, of quilt from a Elizabeth Hartman design from the students choosing.

Chicken Marsala with Spinach Gratin
Cooking Class for Ages 21+
Thursday, August 13th | 5:30-8:00pm

Chef Lilly will teach you how to make a polished yet relaxed dinner that fits comfortably into a busy home kitchen. This class features chicken marsala (with a vegetarian option available), quickly pan seared and finished with a simple Marsala wine & mushroom butter sauce that tastes extraordinary without being fussy. It’s served with tender ricotta gnocchi that soak up every bit of that sweet, savory sauce. Spinach gratin adds just the right cooked vegetable accompaniment for restaurant elegance at home. The meal wraps up with an easy summer berry tart a la mode made with puff pastry and fresh fruit and served with ice cream — proof that dessert can feel homemade and elegant without much effort. Beer, Wine, and NA Beverages will be available during class for $6 each (2 drink per person limit) accepting cash and Venmo.

Culinary 101: Knife Skills Dinner
Class for Ages 16+
Monday, October 5th | 6:00-8:00pm

Need to up your cooking game? Great cooking starts with great knife skills! Knife skills are important for safety, food appearance, even cooking times, and more. This class will teach you all about knives and knife skills all while making a delicious dinner! Start by learning how to “French” a chicken (8-cut) and roast it up with some delicious seasonings. Learn different knife cuts using a variety of vegetables to make a marinated veggie salad. Finish up practicing your knife skills on potatoes that we’ll turn into the world’s best darnn mashed potatoes!  Students work individually to allow for maximum in-class practice.

Chocolates Masterclass
Class for Ages 16+

Join Chef Alex for a class all about CHOCOLATE! In this class we’ll learn some of the science of chocolate, the process to tempering, and some of the best methods for working with this delicious ingredient! We’ll work in pairs to prepare Chocolate Truffles (with your choice of flavoring), Chocolate Dipped Caramels with Sea Salt, and Fruit-Nut Chocolate Bark!

Italian Sausage from Scratch
Cooking Class for Ages 16+

Join Chef Alex for a class all about making sausage from scratch!  Working with raw ingredients, learn the process of grinding, seasoning, and stuffing Italian sausages from scratch! Each student will take home about 2lbs of fresh Italian sausage to grill up or freeze for later. Class is for ages 16+; Students work in pairs but take home their own sausage.

Delicious and healthy, this dish is gently steamed in parchment with artichokes, summer squash, capers, fresh herbs, and bright lemon. Served with light, fluffy couscous, this dish is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully simple to recreate at home.
