Ceramics : Tree Luminaries

Class:

Just in time for the holiday season, make your own hand-built tree luminary! Walk through all the steps to complete your own custom ceramic tree, then pick out a glaze, and pick up your finished, fired luminary in time for the holidays!

What You’ll Learn:

During this class, students will learn the fundamental steps to create their own ceramic tree luminary.

These include :

• Slab building
• Slipping and scoring
• Basic finishing techniques
• Simple surface decoration

What You’ll Leave With:

By the end of this class, students will have learned some introductory skills to hand building and will have their very own luminary!

(Student work will go through two firings after the workshop has been completed. Baker Hunt will provide glaze options for the students and will glaze their work for them. Students will be contacted, via email, once their pottery has finished firing and is available for pick up on a later date.)

Recommended: Ages 14-15 years of age be accompanied by a paying Adult (16+).
