Beginning Friendship Bracelets

Class:

This fun, one-day class introduces students to the colorful world of friendship bracelet making using embroidery floss. Perfect for beginners, students will learn the basics of knotting techniques to create classic patterns and simple designs they can customize with their favorite colors.

What You’ll Learn:

Through step-by-step guidance, participants will practice essential knots, pattern reading, and tips for keeping their bracelets neat and consistent. Along the way, they’ll explore color combinations and develop their own unique styles while making bracelets to share with friends or keep as personal keepsakes.

What You’ll Leave With:

By the end of the class, each student will leave with a finished bracelet and the skills to continue crafting and experimenting on their own.

Paper Pulp “Clay” Sculptures

July 13 | Ages 11-15

Class Description:

In this workshop, you will learn about the process of making paper pulp/paper clay and using it as an exciting medium to build three-dimensional objects. With its unique textural and moldable qualities, paper pulp sculptures are lightweight, eco friendly, and durable!

What You’ll Learn:

  • Learn how paper pulp becomes a sculptural medium
  • Explore form, texture, and structure
  • Build and finish a paper pulp “clay” sculpture
  • Practice patience, problem-solving, and craftsmanship

What You’ll Leave With:

Students will leave with a paper pulp bowl, vase, and/or a paper clay tile refill

Resin Jewelry-making
Saturday, 12:00 pm
June 6 | Ages 13-17

Class:

In this class, we will be making a pair of earrings (in the shape of your choosing) out of resin. Embedded within the resin, we will be adding flowers and natural elements found on the grounds of Baker Hunt (or brought from home) and/or other materials such as pigments or powders. 

What You’ll Learn:

  • Learn to use resin safely to create artwork
  • Develop skills of adding elements to resin, working with molds, and setting correct temperature/UV exposure.
  • Learn to bring jewelry fixing together to create a cohesive, wearable art piece.

What You’ll Leave With:

A pair of beautiful, unique resin earrings, perhaps more if time allows.

Drink & Draw! Caricatures With Friends!
Thursday, 6:00 p.m.

Class: 

Spend a fun, humorous, and amusing evening at Baker Hunt with a friend, loved one, or that special someone and learn to draw their Whimsical Caricature!

In this new exciting one day workshop, you will learn to create fun amusement park style caricatures drawing while you sketch your partner in class, while creating lasting and humorous memories!

What You’ll Experience:

Due to the presence of alcohol, this is an adult (21 and up) only workshop. You will have a choice of either wine and/or beer from our Baker Hunt beer and wine list. There is a two drink limit per person, and outside alcohol is not permitted. Non-alcoholic options are available and a snack tray is provided.

You will learn tips and tricks of how to render a simplistic caricature sketch of a person. Then you’ll spend time sketching your partner using the basic caricature supplies; pencils, pastels, and outlining markers.

What You’ll Leave With:

You will leave with a fun one of a kind caricature portrait, the knowledge of the basic fundamental skills of caricature making, and a fun memory with your partner.

Mother’s Day Birdseed Wreaths

Class:

If you are looking for a unique, hand-made gift for Mom on Mother’s Day, this class is for you! Join us as we dive into the world of backyard birds as we create decorated birdseed wreaths! Sure to attract the attention of a variety of colorful, native birds to your backyard, this birdseed wreath will also attract the attention of Mom on her special day!

What You’ll Learn:

We will discuss the kinds of native and migrating birds that reside in the greater Cincinnati/NKY area for the spring and summer, as well as the different types of seeds, fruits, and nuts that they love to eat! We will also learn how to use eco- and bird-friendly materials as binding agents for our feeder wreaths.

What You’ll Leave With:

Each stud will leave with a beautiful, outdoor birdseed wreath (and a mold for future wreaths!) that has a one-of-a-kind design made with fruits, nuts, and other bird-loving foods…just in time for Mother’s Day! You will also have a greater appreciation for the birds in our area, and leave with tips for attracting specific birds to your backyard!

Stained Glass: Umbrella

In this Adult workshop, you discover the basic steps and the tools used in the Stained Glass making process. In a step-by-step instruction, small group learning environment, each person in the class will create your very own individualized stained glass UMBRELLA.

What You’ll Learn:

You will learn how to properly use the basic tools of a stained glass artist, and you will learn the FOUR basic steps of the stained glass making process: Glass Cutting, Glass Grinding, Foiling, and Soldering. 

What You’ll Leave With:

By the end of the two hour workshop, you will have learned and experienced first-hand all the steps of how to make a piece of stained glass art, and you will leave with a completed Stained Glass Umbrella pattern.

Introduction to Broom Making: Cobweb Broom

Class:

Discover the old world charm of making a cobweb broom in the traditional style. These brooms are functional but make great decorative items, and great gifts!

What You’ll Learn:

Learn the basic weaving techniques used to make a broom, with natural broomcorn (sorghum) and organic handles.  Leave with a completed project.

What You’ll Leave With:

By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a beautifully crafted cobweb broom and a deeper appreciation for the tactile knowledge carried through craft.

I can paint an AXOLOTL
Saturday, 12:00 pm
February 21 | Ages 5-7

Class:

Have your child join us on a Saturday and we will have ‘OLOTL’ fun when they learn how to use acrylics to paint an AXOLOTL on a canvas!

(This is a kids only workshop, no adults are in the classroom)

What You’ll Discover:

They will be in a step-by-step group learning environment as they learn how to paint their very own Axolotl painting on canvas board. The will learn the basics of how to paint using acrylics while learning some fun nature and axolotl facts!

What You’ll Create:

They will paint a copy of the pictured axolotl picture above on a 8×8″ canvas board.
