Da’ Vinci Drawing Camp
5-Days | July 6th – July 10th
9:00am-3:00pm | Ages 9 to 12

CAMP Theme:

Campers will learn about the elements of art and design when creating 2-D art, and will get exposure of different drawing mediums such as pencil, pen & ink, charcoal, and markers.

What You’ll Discover:

Enhance the drawing skills of your young budding artist as they explore the elements of art and the principles of design when focus on developing their illustration skills. In this week long camp, activities will include covering a variety of drawing  materials and they will learn all about how to bring their drawing to life. Learning to use techniques such as pointillism, one & two point perspective, lightening and shading, and how to create dynamic compositions.

What You’ll Create:

In this camp, you will create fun projects such as perspective drawing, pointillism, charcoal rendering, using art markers to create value and contrast, still-life drawing, figure and posing studies, and so much more!

Before & After-care Available:

Before & After-care provides additional time before and after camp for early drop-offs and late pick-ups. Before-Care starts at 8am, and After-Care ends at 4pm. To enroll, add the Before & After-care “ticket” to your registration.

Americas Indigenous Art Camp
5-Days | June 1st – June 5th
9:00am-3:00pm | Ages 7 to 10

CAMP Theme:

Focus on the many artforms attributed to the ancient and modern Indigenous people of North and South America!

What You’ll Discover:

This week-long art camp steeped in cultural history explores the ancient and modern arts of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas! Explore Mayan culture through mosaics and architecture (model building), the Incas and their woven textiles full of symbolism, the Mississippian cultures’ shell art and copper plaques, and Inuits for their “soap” stone carvings and beadwork textiles, Indigenous Americans and their basketry and pottery, and more!

What You’ll Create:

You will create a number of fun projects such as masks, paper weaving, soap carving, beading/bead jewelry, small pottery making, and figurine sculpting.

Before & After-care Available:

Before & After-care provides additional time before and after camp for early drop-offs and late pick-ups. Before-Care starts at 8am, and After-Care ends at 4pm. To enroll, add the Before & After-care “ticket” to your registration.

Little Rembrandts Camp

In this week long camp, activities will include covering a variety of drawing and painting materials and they will learn all about the different and historical influences of past famous grand master painters, such as Monet, Cézanne, Van Gough, Gauguin, and many more!

What You’ll Create:

In this camp, you will create fun projects such as watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting, charcoal rendering, impressionistic painting, abstract painting, figure and posing studies, and so much more!

Before & After-care Available:

Before & After-care provides additional time before and after camp for early drop-offs and late pick-ups. Before-Care starts at 8am, and After-Care ends at 4pm. To enroll, add the Before & After-care “ticket” to your registration.

DBL will showcase over 40 pieces of artwork on its 1st and 4th floors. You will be greeted by a docent upon your arrival. The 30-minute tour will include a brief history of both organizations, a look into the thought process of the presented artwork, and a guided tour of the facility showing all represented artworks.
This is to register for viewing from 10:45 am – 11:15 am, on January 9th. Meet at the front glass doors of DBL – 109 E 4th St, Covington, KY 41011. Must arrive on time, if tour leaves without you, you have missed the showing for this time.

  3. The Kenton County Parking Garage (attached to the Kenton County Justice Center) at 220 Madison Avenue.  Our office building is a short two blocks southeast of the garage.  We recommend walking south on Madison Avenue, then turn left on the south side of 4th Street.
