Adventures in Quilting: Football Runner

Class:
This class will focus on quilting your very own Football Themed Table Runner! Complete with team specific end zones and instruction on how to take the original pattern to the next level by making and adding your team’s logo to midfield.
**If you have your own sewing machine, please bring it to class! If you do not, one will be provided for you to use!**
**This is a beginner level class**
What You’ll Learn:
Students will learn to cut, fuse, and stitch down applique motifs to the table runner before quilting the layers together making a show stopping center piece that will be the perfect addition to your game day festivities! This pattern does not feature traditional quilt piecing, but instead raw-edge applique. Students will modifying a pattern to elevate and add personalization by quilting together a top (football field), middle batting layer, backing layer, and apply quilt binding in one of two methods by either by hand or machine.
What You’ll Leave With:
A completed football field themed table runner and proficiency in applique, quilting, and binding. This makes a wonderful gift for the football fan in your life, perfect for your handmade gift list!

Supply List
Baker Hunt provides all the standard tools to create the featured project, and provides limited material fabric for the project.
Students will need to purchase:
- 3/4 yard preferred football team novelty fabric, (must be quilting cotton)
- Such as Kentucky Wildcat, Cincinnati Bengals, UC Bearcats, Ohio State Buckeyes, etc.
- (suggested retailers: Around the Corner Fabric, Hobby Lobby, Bessie’s Quilting Niche, Silk Road Textiles, Michael’s, or online retailers such as Fat Quarter Shop, Missouri Star Quilt Company
- 2 yards preferred backing fabric. (must be quilting cotton)
- This will be the back or bottom of the table runner.
- If you prefer to use the same fabric as the football team endzone fabric, purchase 2 and 3/4 total yards.
