Serpent Mound: A Celebration
One artist’s spiritual journey at his favorite sacred space: Ken Landon Buck has created a unique vision of his observations of Serpent Mound over the last three years. This show is composed of Indigenous people and their friends gathering and performing ceremonies on the Equinoxes and Solstices, people praying, performing their own spiritual acts, or being contemplative within the space, and also images of the landscape around the site. There are around 25 to 30 works of art planned for the exhibition in watercolor, gouache, and pastels. Artwork is for sale.

Serpent Mound: A Celebration

Art Show Opening Reception

Serpent Mound: A Celebration
One artist’s spiritual journey at his favorite sacred space: Ken Landon Buck has created a unique vision of his observations of Serpent Mound over the last three years. This show is composed of Indigenous people and their friends gathering and doing ceremonies on the Equinoxes and Solstices, people praying, performing their own spiritual acts, or being contemplative on the side, and also images of the landscape around the site. There are around 25 to 30 works of art planned for the exhibition in watercolor, gouache, and pastels.
“While visiting Serpent Mound ,a couple of years ago during Spring Equinox, I was lucky to come across a group of Indigenous people celebrating the energies in their singing, dancing and chanting. I was so moved by them I began taking candid shots to capture their walk along the snake shaped mound. As I walked the path with them and followed in their footsteps I was deeply moved by their wisdom sharing , and tried to be like an unobtrusive observing spirit in their rhythms. Later as I looked at the images on my phone I was so inspired by their actions that I knew then and there I had to paint these scenes as stories.  By sharing my observations I hope to awaken the viewers with the spiritual place itself, the people who quietly take care of the world by their actions, and press the need for caring for all people. Thanks to my Mother who first opened my eyes to other worlds, began my journey to be a better person and took me to Serpent Mound to experience the deeper connections.”
