Creamy Southern Grits, Sautéed Shrimp, Pumpkin Bread & Winter Greens Salad
Join Chef Mona for a hands-on Southern cooking experience featuring creamy cheese grits topped with seasoned sautéed shrimp. Round out the meal with savory pumpkin bread, and a tender winter greens salad with lemon vinaigrette. Along the way, you’ll learn essential techniques and tips for creating these comforting Southern favorites at home. Students work in pairs. Beer & wine available for purchase (cash or Venmo).

Celebrate the heart and heritage of Southern baking through an elegant, contemporary lens with Chef Catrina. In this hands-on class, you’ll transform beloved comfort-food desserts into refined, restaurant-worthy creations while honoring the flavors that have made them classics for generations. Explore techniques in plating, texture, flavor balance, and presentation as you learn how to elevate simple ingredients into sophisticated desserts.

Menu:

  • Bougie Banana Pudding – Layers of silky vanilla custard, fresh bananas, crisp cookie elements, and beautifully composed garnishes.
  • Plated Peach Cobbler – Seasonal peaches paired with delicate pastry components and modern plating techniques that highlight this Southern favorite.

Cooking Class for Ages 7-12 w/Adult

In this hands-on class, young chefs and their adult partners will learn from Chef Mona how to make fluffy homemade biscuits from scratch, then top them with rich and savory country-style gravy. You’ll also prepare warm fried apples seasoned with cinnamon and spice for a comforting finishing touch. Who says breakfast is only for mornings? Grab your favorite grown-up and join us for a fun-filled evening of Southern-inspired cooking as we turn classic breakfast favorites into a delicious dinner feast! Perfect for ages 7–12 with an adult, this class is a cozy, family-friendly cooking adventure packed with Southern comfort and plenty of delicious fun.
