Class:

During this new and exciting 7-week course, its intent is to teach each student how to confidently use their camera by understanding exposure, composition and natural ambient light. In addition, we will cover basic editing. Each session will blend instruction, hands-on practice and group discussion to build skills progressively.

What You’ll Learn:

In a small group learning environment, students will learn the camera basics and exposure fundamentals, the understanding of the usage of light, color and basic editing, composition and visual storytelling, and more!

What You’ll Leave With:

By the end of the 4-week course, you will understand and control exposure settings, compose visually engaging photographs, use natural light effectively, perform basic photo editing, and approach photography with confidence and creative intention

Equipment you’ll need:

  • Any DSLR camera and lens
  • Fully charged camera battery for each class
  • A memory card for the camera (8 GIG minimum.)
  • Notebook and Pencil

Photography Camp
5-Days | July 20th – July 24th
9:00am-3:00pm | Ages 10 to 14

CAMP Theme:

Camp focuses on photography as an art form, technical skills, etc.

What You’ll Discover:

Photograph your world! Youth will explore their world through the camera lens. Whether it’s a phone-camera, film-based, or a fancy digital camera, a lot of the same techniques and principles apply. Learn about the history of photography, the science behind how cameras work, take a deep dive into concepts such as composition and lighting, and take lots of photos! We will provide both film and digital cameras for the students to learn on and practice with, as well as provide focused/themed projects to explore students’ creativity with photography!

What You’ll Create:

You will practice a number of fun projects such as learning how to operate differ cameras, composing the perfect composition, lighting and staging techniques, outdoor photography, nature photography, and much more!

Before & After-care Available:

Before & After-care provides additional time before and after camp for early drop-offs and late pick-ups. Before-Care starts at 8am, and After-Care ends at 4pm. To enroll, add the Before & After-care “ticket” to your registration.
