Meal Prep Management: High-Protein
Cooking Class for Ages 16+

Meal-Prepping is all the rage, and deservedly so! For busy, on-the-go folks, there’s a lot to be said for having a week’s worth of meals ready in advance. Chef Mona will teach you how she preps for her private clients, building high-protein meals for vegetarians or meat-eaters that are so delicious, you’ll forget they’re good for you. In advance of class, you’ll choose one of these menu items, and then during class, you’ll pick one or more flavor profiles, to make 6 ready-to-eat (or freeze) prepped meals. Students will work in pairs, and everyone will take home 6 ready-to-eat (or freeze) prepped meals. Containers provided. We’ll send you an email to pick your menu before class (see options below). Class is for students ages 16+, students work in pairs but make their own choices and take home 6 meals each. Please register by January 17th at noon.

Menu:

  • You’ll choose one ahead of class:
    • Boneless Braised Chicken Thigh with Quinoa and Broccoli
    • Torn Tofu with Amaranth and Seasonal Greens
    • Roast Pork Tenderloin with Brown Rice and Sugar Snap Peas
  • You’ll be able to choose multiple flavor profiles in class:
    • Asian Ginger-Peanut
    • Spicy Herbed Lemon-Garlic
    • Southwestern Style

Eat Now AND Later – Comfort Food Classics
Cooking Class for Ages 16+
Wednesday, March 18th, 2026 | 11:00am-1:00pm

Fill your belly and your fridge with these hearty and satisfying classics. In this class, you will learn to make a brown roux, then use it in 2 different recipes – one will be a lovely lunch of Beef Tips & Noodles to share with classmates, the other will be savory Gumbo packed for you to take home and have for dinner, or freeze for another time. This class is for students ages 16+, students work in pairs so sign up with a friend or plan to make some new ones! Please register by March 12th at noon.

Eat Now AND Later – Succulent Soups & Sauces
Cooking Class for Ages 16+
Tuesday, March 10th, 2026 | 11:00am-1:00pm

The classic French sauce “Veloute”  is a chef’s secret for adding richness and creaminess to your meals without a lot of fat. In this class, you will learn to make the classic mother sauce “Veloute” then use it in 2 different recipes – one will be a lovely lunch of Seared Chicken with Lemon-Caper Sauce to enjoy with classmates, the other will be Cream of Mushroom (or Broccoli) Soup, packed to take home and have for dinner or freeze for another time.   This class is for students ages 16+, students work in pairs so sign up with a friend or plan to make some new ones! Please register by March 6th at noon.

Menu:

  • Chicken Paillard with Lemon-Caper Sauce
  • Cream of Broccoli or Cream of Mushroom Soup (your choice)

Pantry Gourmet: Around the World
Cooking Class for Ages 9-12 w/Adult
Wednesday, March 4th, 2026 | 5:30-7:30pm

Open your pantry and travel the world! Create three unique dishes from one chicken and some basic pantry staples. Use different seasonings and cooking methods to achieve a variety of meals on a budget! A well stocked pantry can be your source of inspiration and culinary exploration! Discuss this – and more – while preparing (and eating) Chicken Stir-Fry, Chicken Cacciatore, and Chicken Enchiladas!  Class is for youth ages 9-12 accompanied by an adult. Please register by February 28th at noon.

Mardi Gras – Jambalaya and Other Favorites
Cooking Class for Ages 21+

Let the good times roll with Chef Mona in this exploration of celebratory foods perfect for Fat Tuesday. Enjoy some N’awlins jazz and sip a Hurricane while you craft classic jambalaya, skillet cornbread, and pecan pralines. Class is for students ages 21+, students work in pairs so sign up with a friend! Cooking Class for Ages 16+
Tuesday, February 10th, 2026 | 10:30am-1:00pm

In this class, you will learn to make the classic mother sauce, Bechamel, then use it in 2 different recipes – one will be a classic Kentucky Hot Brown lunch to share with classmates, the other will be decadent Macaroni & Cheese packed in your preferred sized containers to take home and have for dinner, or freeze for another time. This class is for students ages 16+, students work in pairs so sign up with a friend or plan to make some new ones! Please register by February 6th at noon.

Kitchen Magician! Mystery Dinner
Cooking Class for Ages 9-12 w/Adult
Tuesday, January 13th, 2026 | 5:30-8:00pm

A well-stocked pantry enables quick, affordable, and nutritious meals. But what about those leftover odds and ends? In this interactive class, students will select from a variety of pantry and refrigerated groceries (unknown to chef until you choose them!) which Chef Mona must incorporate into a spontaneous menu including chicken. An expert in cooking on the fly and on a budget, she’ll guide participants through her creative process and collaborate with small teams to prepare a shared meal. This hands-on experience encourages resourceful cooking, reduces food waste, and maximizes your grocery budget. Don’t miss out on the fun! Class is for youth ages 9-12 accompanied by an adult. Please register by January 9th at noon.

Flirty Apps and Sorrel Royale Cocktail
Cooking Class for Ages 21+
Thursday, December 18 | 6:00-8:00pm

Ditch the traditional holiday get-together apps and join chef Mona in cooking up shareables worth talking about! This class focuses on preparing unique appetizers options utilizing a variety of techniques for different textures, colors and – of course – flavors! Prepare and enjoy a delicious cocktail (or mock version) of Champagne and Homemade Sorrel Syrup – a twist on the classic Kir Royale. This class is for ages 21+.  Students work in pairs, so it makes a great date!

Menu:

  • Black Bean Fritters with Chermoula (Tunisian Herb Sauce)
  • Apple and Walnut Cheese Tart with Tangy Cranberry Drizzle
