Youth Wearable Art: Imagine. Create. Wear!
Thursday, 6:00pm
September 24 – October 15 | Ages 9-12

General Class Description

Wearable Art is a hands-on creative class where students transform everyday garments and accessories into one-of-a-kind works of art. Whether customizing a denim jacket, handbag, hat, shoes, or another wearable item, students will learn the complete creative process, from developing an idea to presenting a finished piece.

What Will Students Learn?

Understand the complete creative process from inspiration to finished artwork.
Develop a personal artistic concept based on their own style and story.
Learn basic design principles including color, composition, and balance.
Explore techniques for painting, embellishing, and customizing wearable items.
Build confidence in creative decision-making and problem-solving.
Complete and present one custom wearable art piece.

Youth Continuing/Intermediate Watercolor
Thursday, 6:30pm
September 24 – October 15 | Ages 10-15

Class Description:

This class is designed for those students who have participated in a basic watercolor class or have prior experience in watercolor. Students will continue to broaden their visual vocabularies as we expand upon the fundamental materials and techniques of watercolor painting in this 4-week session. Each session will include inspiration from famous watercolor artists, teacher demonstrations and a fun mini project to practice new techniques.

What You’ll Learn:

We will exploit the techniques such as wet-on-wet, dry-brushing, edge control, gradients and adding mixed media to create expressive paintings. We will also learn more about the use materials to layer, mix colors and create dynamic effects.

What You’ll Leave With:

You will come away with a toolbox of new or expanded techniques to practice on your own, color and technique charts, and at least 3 mini watercolor projects

Youth Beginning Watercolor

Class Description:

The Art of Content Creation (video editing for teens)
Wednesday, 6:00pm
September 23 – October 14 | Ages 13-17

General Class Description

In this hands-on course, students will learn the complete process of creating engaging short-form videos for today’s most popular social media platforms. From developing ideas and filming with confidence to editing polished content, performing on camera, and publishing strategically, students will gain practical experience producing videos using smartphones or cameras and beginner-friendly editing software.

What Will Students Learn?

Understand the complete video production process from concept to publication.
Develop engaging video ideas based on audience and purpose.
Learn storytelling techniques that capture attention.
Film high-quality video using smartphones or cameras.
Understand composition, lighting, and audio fundamentals.
Edit videos using modern editing software.
Add captions, music, graphics, and effects.
Learn platform-specific best practices for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Complete one polished 60 second promotional video.
Basic on-camera performance techniques, including body language, eye contact, and authentic delivery.

Teen Open Studio
Tuesday, 6:30pm
September 22 – October 13 | Ages 13-17

Class Description:

Express yourself and let your creativity run free! In this open studio, students can explore the art media and subjects of their choice with as much (or as little) teacher guidance as is desired/needed. If you are putting together a portfolio for an application of any kind, this class can help in that as well! Materials available include pencils, colored pencils, pastels, art markers, watercolor, acrylic, collage, air-dry clay, and more! Optional prompts and demos will vary week to week for inspiration, such as a still-life set-up, art magazines/books, and graphic novels/comic books.

Students may keep a portfolio at the studio for ongoing projects.
