In this hands-on course, students will learn the complete process of creating engaging short-form videos for today’s most popular social media platforms. From developing ideas and filming with confidence to editing polished content, performing on camera, and publishing strategically, students will gain practical experience producing videos using smartphones or cameras and beginner-friendly editing software.

What Will Students Learn?

Understand the complete video production process from concept to publication.

Film high-quality video using smartphones or cameras.
Understand composition, lighting, and audio fundamentals.

General Class Description

Wearable Art is a hands-on creative class where students transform everyday garments and accessories into one-of-a-kind works of art. Whether customizing a denim jacket, handbag, hat, shoes, or another wearable item, students will learn the complete creative process, from developing an idea to presenting a finished piece.

What Will Students Learn?

Understand the complete creative process from inspiration to finished artwork.
Develop a personal artistic concept based on their own style and story.
Learn basic design principles including color, composition, and balance.
Explore techniques for painting, embellishing, and customizing wearable items.
Build confidence in creative decision-making and problem-solving.
Complete and present one custom wearable art piece.

In this hands-on course, students will learn the fundamentals of photography while developing their own creative eye. Through guided exercises, real-world assignments, and constructive critiques, students will explore composition, lighting, perspective, and visual storytelling using either a smartphone or digital camera.

What Will Students Learn?

Throughout the course, students will work from a real-world creative brief, learning how professional photographers create compelling imagery for clients, brands, and organizations. Students will photograph people, places, objects, and everyday moments while discovering how thoughtful photography can communicate emotion, personality, and purpose.

What Will Students Leave With?

  • Understand the fundamentals of photography and visual storytelling.
  • Learn how to create compelling images with intention.
  • Master composition techniques including the Rule of Thirds, framing, leading lines, symmetry, and depth.
  • Understand natural and artificial lighting.
  • Learn how perspective changes the story of an image.
  • Develop confidence photographing people, objects, architecture, and everyday scenes.
  • Understand basic camera settings and smartphone photography techniques.
  • Learn introductory photo editing and color correction.
