Eat Now AND Later – Veloute Sauce-Based Meals
Cooking Class for Ages 16+
Tuesday, March 10th, 2026 | 11:00am-1:00pm

In this class, you will learn to make the classic mother sauce Veloute, then use it in 2 different recipes – one will be a lovely lunch to share with classmates, the other will be packed for you to take home and have for dinner, or freeze for another time. This class is for students ages 16+, students work in pairs so sign up with a friend! Please register by March 6th at noon.

Menu:

  • Chicken Paillard with Lemon-Caper Sauce
  • Cream of Broccoli or Cream of Mushroom Soup (your choice)

Skills You’ll Learn:

  • Kitchen Safety, Knife Skills
  • Mother Sauces
  • Roux

What you’ll take home:

  • Any leftovers from what you don’t eat in class
  • A quart of soup to take home and eat or freeze
  • Recipes and instructions

Pantry Gourmet: Around the World
Cooking Class for Ages 9-12 w/Adult
Wednesday, March 4th, 2026 | 5:30-7:30pm

Open your pantry and travel the world! Create three unique dishes from one chicken and some basic pantry staples. Use different seasonings and cooking methods to achieve a variety of meals on a budget! A well stocked pantry can be your source of inspiration and culinary exploration! Discuss this – and more – while preparing (and eating) Chicken Stir-Fry, Chicken Cacciatore, and Chicken Enchiladas!  Class is for youth ages 9-12 accompanied by an adult. Please register by February 28th at noon.
