In this fun and energetic 2-week workshop, students will design and create their own wildlife-inspired hat, there will be a few options, transforming a simple base into a unique animal character. Using felt, fabric, and mixed materials, students will explore how to build shapes, add dimension and layer details to represent features like ears, beaks, horns and textures.

What You’ll Learn:

Students will learn how to design and construct a wearable art piece by building shapes, layering materials and using creative details to represent animal features.

What You’ll Leave With:

Students will leave with a wearable wildlife hat that showcases their chosen animal and their creativity in design and construction.

Sleepover-inspired Dreams: Glow & Create
Tuesday, 6:00 pm
July 21 & July 28 | Ages 9-12

Class:

In this cozy, sleepover-inspired 2-week workshop, students will explore imagination and self-expression through glow-in-the-dark and mixed media art. The studio transforms into a relaxed, dimly lit space where students begin with a quick neon drawing warm-up before diving into a main project: creating a layered dream collage (moldboard). Using black paper, gel pens, fabric scraps and collage materials, students will experiment with texture, color and glowing effects to bring their ideas to life.

The session ends with a fun create your own “bedtime story”, where students make their own mini storybook to present their artwork and the imaginative worlds behind it. Students will leave with a one-of-a-kind glowing artwork and a deeper understanding of creative storytelling.

What You’ll Learn:

Students will learn how to use mixed media techniques to layer materials, create mood with color/ light and express imaginative ideas through visual storytelling.

What You’ll Leave With:

Students will leave with a unique glow-inspired mixed media artwork and a creative “story” behind their piece that reflects their imagination and personal expression.

Mosaic Art: Glass Lanterns

June 23 | Ages 11-15

Class:

In this hands-on workshop, students will design and create a glowing glass lantern using jars, colored film, gems and reflective materials. Beginning with a guided sketch, students will explore pattern design, composition and color choices that respond to light. They will then build layered surfaces using transparent and textured elements to create depth and visual interest. In the final stage, students will assemble their lanterns and experiment with illumination, observing how light transforms color, shadow and overall design.

What You’ll Learn:

Students will acquire practical skills in arranging materials, planning designs, and working with light and color interaction. They will have a stronger sense of visual decision making specifically how to balance shapes, contrast and rhythm.

What You’ll Leave With:

Students will leave the workshop with a completed mosaic piece, foundational skills in pattern design and composition, and a deeper understanding of how light and color interact within visual art.

Fairytale Forward: Dragon’s Eye

June 16 | Ages 11-15

Class:

Step into a world of fantasy in this imaginative fairytale workshop, where students will create their own mystical dragon eye sculpture. Using air-dry clay and a glass gem as the focal point, students will learn sculpting techniques to shape a textured base, build layered scales and add intricate details that bring their creature to life.

Once their forms are complete, students will explore color blending and painting techniques to enhance depth, contrast and realism. In the final stage, they will finish and refine their piece, transforming it into a striking, magical artifact.

What You’ll Learn:

Students will learn foundational sculpting techniques, including shaping forms, adding texture and detail and blending color through painting.

What You’ll Leave With:

Students will leave with a finished dragon eye clay sculpture that showcases their craftsmanship and creative expression.
