Charcoal Open Studio

Class:

This open studio is perfect for beginners! Have a photo you would like to make into a charcoal drawing? Bring it! Have an object you would like to draw from life? Bring it! Or if you want an original composition, you brainstorm with your instructor on ideas and tips for how to get started with a project

What You’ll Learn:

In a group learning environment, you will be working on your own current self-pace artwork, and will have the opportunity for one-on-one guidance, feedback on your artwork, guidance of tips and techniques of using charcoal, and inspiration from the instructor.

What You’ll Leave With:

By the end of each class meeting you will have more confidence in the progression of your current artwork.

2-D Open Studio

The class will focus on identifying students’ individual proclivities in art making, then emphasizing those in the work at hand of the medium of your choice. Mark making, drawing, composition, color, material handling, and intent will be addressed. Every artist has a ‘signature’ in their work; this class will help you discover yours.  Individual attention with each student in a shared studio is the focus.

This class serves as a time to use our studio get some additional work done on your artwork from another classes, use campus for some plein air working, or get some feed back from fellow artists, students, and Craig the instructor. Students will be given individual attention on the subject of their choosing. Familiarity with the medium is required. Students of all levels are welcome in this open-studio class.

All skill levels welcomed! (There will be a group critique to conclude the class.)

Superhero Camp
5-Days | July 6th – July 10th
9:00am-3:00pm | Ages 7 to 10

CAMP Theme:

This camp focuses on everything Superhero, comic book/strip related, and to help increase the campers ability to draw and illustrate and create their own superhero.

What You’ll Discover:

Excelsior! Enter an imaginative world of good superheroes prevailing over evil villains as you create your very own crime fighter on the pages of you comic book and canvas! Learn to illustrate with pro tips to create life within your super illustrations. It is the perfect camp for imaginative youth who love superheroes and love to draw.

What You’ll Create:

In this camp, you will create fun projects such as creating your own superhero. Complete with background story, list of super powers, and archrivals. Mask making, cape making, figure sculpting and posing, comic illustration pencil, markers, and ink, story boards, and so much more!

Before & After-care Available:

Before & After-care provides additional time before and after camp for early drop-offs and late pick-ups. Before-Care starts at 8am, and After-Care ends at 4pm. To enroll, add the Before & After-care “ticket” to your registration.

Ink & Inspiration Camp
5-Days | June 1st – June 5th
9:00am-3:00pm | Ages 10 to 14

CAMP Theme:

Focus on 2D media created with pencil, ink, charcoal.

What You’ll Discover:

If your artist is serious about learning, sign up so they can explore these deceptively simple media to build a strong foundation for artistic success! In this week-long camp, youth will work through various individual and group projects to develop an understanding for using pencils, ink, and art-markers to their highest potential. Techniques in drawing the human figure, objects in still-life, perspective drawing and more while learning about the many different types of pencils available to artists. Explore ink as a medium to enhance your drawings, try your hand at calligraphy, and more! Finally, explore the versatility of artist-markers for adding color to drawings.

What You’ll Create:

In this camp, you will create fun projects such as letter making and calligraphy, still life’s, landscapes and out door sketches, speed drawing, blind contour drawing, laying multiple mediums (pen, ink, makers), and so much more!

Before & After-care Available:

RAWR! STOMP! RAWR! Camp
5-Days | July 13th – July 17th
9:00am-3:00pm | Ages 7 to 10

CAMP Theme:

This camp focuses on Dinosaurs, Dinosaur facts & Art, paleontology, and all things prehistoric.

What You’ll Discover:

Venture back in time where the world was young and dinosaurs ruled over the prehistoric world! Learn all about dinosaurs in this fun filled week long class as you create amazing and fun works of art.

What You’ll Create:

In this camp, you will create fun projects such as creating your own dinosaur, art about dinosaur facts, identify dinosaur fossils, make your own dino fossil, and so much more!

Before & After-care Available:
