Do you spend your daydreaming about your own original characters? Do you like to draw these characters, but you feel like they’re not quite what you imagined? Then let’s strengthen that design! Come down and learn what makes for an iconic character like Luffy, Darth Vader, or even SpongeBob. This intermediate workshop is perfect for young artists looking for inspiration or to sharpen their skills.

What You’ll Learn:

During this workshop , you will learn the basics of visual story telling. These basics will include understanding the difference between strong and weak design, using silhouettes to make identifiable characters, and communicating character traits through shape language, as well as simple color theory.

What You’ll Leave With:

By the end of this class, you’ll walk away having learned how to strengthen your character’s design, use it to tell a story, and be satisfied that the character you envisioned is on the page.

Inspired by the upcoming Covington Convention event: CONington: A Celebration of Tabletop on APRIL 24th through APRIL 26TH, come join us at Baker Hunt the following weekend for workshops inspired by the themes of the convention!

This entertaining workshop keeps the festivities going from the convention by having attendees create, design, and draw their own imagined character.
