Teen Open Studio Ceramics
Fridays, 9:00am
July 10 – 24 | Ages 13-17

In this class students will be given time to work though projects they have envisioned and freedom to create as they think. An open space for students to work with clay and not feel judgment to create a specific piece or for it to look a certain way.

What You’ll Learn:

Students will learn to independently work with clay and build on knowledge they already have with ideas they have wanted to work with.

What You’ll Leave With:

Students will leave with hand built ceramic pieces. Using their knowledge of basic hand building principles and their imagination.

(Students will submit glazed works for final firing on the last class of the session. Students will be contacted, via email, once their pottery has finished firing and available for pick up on a later date)

Resin Jewelry-making
Saturday, 12:00 pm
June 6 | Ages 13-17

Class:

In this class, we will be making a pair of earrings (in the shape of your choosing) out of resin. Embedded within the resin, we will be adding flowers and natural elements found on the grounds of Baker Hunt (or brought from home) and/or other materials such as pigments or powders.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Learn to use resin safely to create artwork
  • Develop skills of adding elements to resin, working with molds, and setting correct temperature/UV exposure.
  • Learn to bring jewelry fixing together to create a cohesive, wearable art piece.

What You’ll Leave With:

A pair of beautiful, unique resin earrings, perhaps more if time allows.
