Christmas Stocking Sewing Workshop

Join us at Baker Hunt for some fun Holiday Cheer as we learn the basics of using a sewing machine to create to complete your very own Christmas stocking! This two day workshop will focus on the ins and outs of working with a sewing machine from threading, to winding a bobbin, to sewing with a proper seam allowance, and to troubleshooting common machine issues.

What You’ll Learn:

Participants learn the beginning basics of using a sewing machine, and they will then begin quilting and sewing their own stocking with the option to personalize it with their name on the cuff.

*No sewing experience required.

**IF YOU HAVE A MACHINE, BRING IT! If you have your own sewing machine in good working order, please bring it with you to class. If you do not have your own machine, one will be provided you can use.

What You’ll Leave With:

Participants will get to take home a beautiful and unique Christmas Stocking, and they will be able to take the stocking pattern, directions, and materials list written by the class instructor  home to continue creating more, year after year!

“Quilted” No-Sew Ornament

Join us for a fun and whimsical holiday activity in learning to make no-sew “quilted” Christmas ornaments! These make great gifts and family keepsakes and require absolutely no sewing experience.

For this fun workshop, Adult (16+) tickets are $35 per adult, and youth(ages 5-15) tickets are $15 per child.

[***Any youth ages 5 – 15, must be accompanied by a paying adult. (16+)***]

What You’ll Learn:

This beginner friendly class will teach you a new way to use fabric and pins to create a stunning ornament that you can continue to make for family and friends for years to come.

What You’ll Leave With:

Participants will get to take home a beautiful and unique fabric ornament and they will be able to take the pattern and materials list written by the class instructor home with them so they can make these ornaments year after year.

Are you curious about a starting new art making medium, but worried to see if its right for you? Do you want to experience a class that you get to try a multitude of mediums? THEN THIS CLASS IS FOR YOU!!!

ART EXPLORATION SERIES is a 4-week class designed for students to try new mediums with out the stress of having to commit to a full 4 or 8 week course in the discipline of a single media. Each week, students will have the opportunity to try a different medium.(4 different mediums in total)

Mediums such as:  Drawing, Colored Pencils, Watercolors/Gouache, Acrylic Painting, Oil Painting, Ceramics (Handbuilding only), Paper/Collage, Sewing (Hand/embroidery), Stained Glass, Pastels, and so much more!

Join us in discovering your newest and greatest hobby together this Fall Session at Baker Hunt!

Getting to Know Your Sewing Machine

Have a sewing machine, but you’re not sure how to use it?

Come to Baker Hunt and learn the beginning fundamentals of operating a sewing machine! You’ll learn how to change stitch length, move your needle, wind a bobbin, thread your machine, change stitches, switch machine feet, and more! Plus! You will complete a small project!

No makeup classes will be made available in the case of illness or inclement weather.

Introduction to Character Design

Learn the basics of character design in this four week course, offering demos on drawing basics like shape breakdowns and best sketchbook practices, with hands-on studio time. Students will develop original characters over the course of 3 weeks and learn visual storytelling elements.

Pajama Sewing Party

In this class fun 4 week class, your child will learn how to use a sewing machine as they learn to craft a beginning project of a roll-up pillow case. This will help develop their skills using the sewing machine when they craft their very own unique pair of PAJAMA PANTS!

In this class fun 6 week class, your child will learn how to use a sewing machine safely and properly. They will then  learn to craft a exciting beginning sewing projects such as: Wallet, Zipper Bag, a small tote bag, and a Hemingway Pouch!
