General Class Description
Celebrate the beauty of autumn by creating a nature inspired Leaf Catcher: a decorative craft similar to a dreamcatcher or spider web. Students will build a web using sticks and yarn, then decorate it with faux or preserved leaves, miniature woodland accents, and fall embellishments. This rustic project encourages creativity while making a beautiful seasonal decoration for the home.
What Will Students Learn?
Basic weaving techniques using yarn.
How to securely build a frame using natural materials.
Design and composition using layered decorations.
Fine motor skills through wrapping, tying, and arranging embellishments.
Appreciation for nature-inspired crafting.
What Will Students Leave With?
Students will complete a Leaf Catcher and have a handmade fall decoration that can be hung on a wall, porch or window for the fall. If time allows, students will also create and paint a leaf-shaped
