Holi-clay Animals: Festive Penguin!

Class:

Why stop at building a snowman this winter when you could make your own festive penguin too?! In this class, learn introductory sculpting and hand building techniques to create your very own festive penguin for the holidays! This class is open to all skill levels!

What You’ll Learn:

During this two-hour class you will learn fundamental hand-building skills such as using pinch pots and coils to sculpt, how to use basic pottery tools, and introductory skills in surface decoration.

What You’ll Leave With:

By the end of the workshop, you will have learned and experienced first-hand all the steps of how to build your own clay critter and decorate it to be festive with you during the winter season!

(Student work will go through two firings after the workshop has been completed. Any glazing needed for projects will be done by Baker Hunt staff. Students will be contacted, via email, once their pottery has finished firing and is available for pick up on a later date.)

Holiday Pie Pans

Class:

Prepare to warm your home and fill your bellies! This class is sure to entice the creative chef in your life. In this two-part class, students of all skill levels learn how to create their own hand-built ceramic pie pan AND will have a cooking class where they will learn how to create all the elements needed to make their very own pie at home.

What You’ll Learn:

During the first part of this two-hour class you will learn fundamental hand-building skills, how to use basic pottery tools, how to prep materials to make your own pie, and how to safely use your new pie pan. The second part of this workshop, you will visit the Baker Hunt learning kitchen to learn how to make a crust, pie filling, and prepare the pie for baking in their newly made pie plate.

What You’ll Leave With:

By the end of the two-part workshop, you will have learned and experience first-hand all the steps of how to build your own pie pan and how to make your own pie with it. Students will also leave the second class with a take and bake pie they created in the kitchen in their newly made pie dish.
