Introduction to Colored Pencil

Class:
Have you ever wanted to learn how to draw with colored pencils, but didn’t know where to start? During this 8-week class, students will be introduced to techniques essential to drawing with the colored pencil medium. Over the course of the class, the students will establish a necessary foundation on which to build their skills, and will help their artistic skill and renderings come to life!
(Prior drawing experience isn’t required for this class, but it is encouraged.)
What You’ll Learn:
Students will learn how to use fundamental drawing techniques with the colored pencil medium to create drawings by participating in follow along exercise to study elements such as; value, composition, texture, etc.
What You’ll Leave With:
By the end of this class, each student will leave with 2 colored pencil drawings/exercises exhibiting the understanding of fundamental drawing techniques and how to utilize them to create believable results.

Supply List
– One 8in. x 10in. Pad of Bristol/Drawing Paper
– One #2 Pencil
– One Durable Eraser
– One 24 count set of Prismacolor Colored Pencils
– These other colors of Prismacolor Colored Pencils will also be needed: 20% Cool Grey, 30% Cool Grey, 50% Cool Grey, 70% Cool Grey, and 90% Cool Grey.
– One Handheld pencil sharpener.
