Beginner Colored Pencil: “Arctic Animals”

Have you ever wanted to learn how to draw animals with colored pencils, but didn’t know where to start? During this this eight week class, students will be introduced to techniques essential to drawing animals with the colored pencil medium.
What You’ll Learn:
In a group learning environment, you will be working on the class lead, step-by-step images of artic animals, and will have the opportunity for one-on-one guidance, feedback on your artwork, feedback guidance including color mixing, blending techniques, and drawing, and inspiration form the instructor. The class will consist of two separate projects(images), focusing on arctic animals, that will help the students establish a necessary foundation on which to expand their skills. (Although prior drawing experience isn’t required for this class, it is encouraged.)
What You’ll Leave With:
By the end of each class meeting you will have a more understanding of how use colored pencils in your own artworks. After each class meeting, you will have learned a new color pencil application. At the end of the 8-week class you will have 2 complete projects.

– One 8in. x 10in. Pad of Bristol/Drawing Paper
– One #2 Pencil
– One Durable Erase
– One 24 count set of Prismacolor Colored Pencils
– These other colors of Prismacolor Colored Pencils will also be needed: 20% Cool Grey, 30% Cool Grey, 50% Cool Grey, 70% Cool Grey, and 90% Cool Grey.
– One Handheld pencil sharpener.
