Spontaneous Stone Mosaics

Slow down and tap into your intuition while exploring the ancient art of mosaics in a contemporary way. Working on a lightweight substrate, we will create abstract mosaics using slate, stone, and simple embellishments. We will mindfully explore the use of texture, line, and balance to create movement and flow in a piece of art. Come prepared to get a little messy while playing with rocks, learning something new, and finding your inner peace!
All Baker Hunt students will be required to follow social distancing guidelines, must wear a mask, and will be temperature checked upon arrival to class. Please stay home if you are feeling sick.

Supply List
-Slate and Stone will be provided for this class, but students are welcome to bring any
small embellishments or stones to use in their individual pieces.
-Each student will be provided with two substrates: A small substrate to use as a sample/practice piece, and a 6”x 6” substrate including wall hanging hardware to attach. If time allows, students can work on an additional piece.
-Tools and additional materials will be available for use, and reference materials will be
provided.
