DESCRIPTION:CAMP Theme:\nFocus on the many artforms attributed to the ancient and modern Indigenous people of North and South America!\nWhat You’ll Discover:\nThis week-long art camp steeped in cultural history explores the ancient and modern arts of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas! Explore Mayan culture through mosaics and architecture (model building), the Incas and their woven textiles full of symbolism, the Mississippian cultures’ shell art and copper plaques, and Inuits for their “soap” stone carvings and beadwork textiles, Indigenous Americans and their basketry and pottery, and more!\nWhat You’ll Create:\nYou will create a number of fun projects such as masks, paper weaving, soap carving, beading/bead jewelry, small pottery making, and figurine sculpting.\nBefore & After-care Available:\nBefore & After-care provides additional time before and after camp for early drop-offs and late pick-ups. Before-Care starts at 8am, and After-Care ends at 4pm.
